On-line registration ends April 28th. Members should be sure to log in to their online accounts prior to registering.

Highlights:

* East Broad Top – all day Thursday, featuring a two hour EBT shop tour, diesel excursion, and Rockhill trolley museum access and ride. Buses will leave the convention center at 8 AM Thursday.

* Over 20 presentations Thursday through Saturday, each given twice.

* Open house at the Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum Saturday afternoon with an opportunity to examine PRR K4s 1361’s restoration up close, along with a mid-afternoon Barbecue dinner.

* Being Mother’s day weekend, the formal schedule will end at 6 PM so that those who want to get home Saturday night have the opportunity to do so. At the same time, the museum yard will be open until 10 PM to socialize and rail fan the PRR’s main line in modern action.

Yesterday at our Annual Meeting

Our annual meeting got off to a great start for its first full day of activities with the East Broadtop railroad tour. The word coming back from its participants was that despite the weather, a great time was had by all. Those who didn't make the tour spent the day enjoying over twenty excellent, informative and enjoyable presentations. And we have a T1 frame in our parking lot! More to come today. Regardless of which path one took, we all enjoyed catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.

Restoration of PRR K4s 1361

The Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum is undertaking a very extensive and professional restoration of 1361 that will ensure many years of operation. But the effort is not inexpensive. At the museum's open house on the last day of the Annual Meeting you will be able to examine the new firebox under construction, using previous donations from the society and our members. Please give serious consideration to including a donation to the restoration when you register for our meeting. 100% of your donation will go to 1361’s restoration.

Thank-you, Dave Evans, President PRRT&HS & the PRRT&HS Directors

Preserving the heritage of "The Standard Railroad of the World" for future generations

The Society's mission is to further scholarly learning and interest in the Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) and its predecessor companies by stimulating and encouraging the collecting, researching, recording and preserving of all technical, historical and practical information concerning the PRR and to make this information available to interested persons. And to further the accurate modeling of the PRR so that future generations may better appreciate and understand the company.
