2026 Annual Meeting

(our 58th)

Wednesday, May 13, 2026 - Saturday, May 16, 2026

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Hosted by the PRRT&HS National Board and the DC Chapter

The PRRT&HS National Board and the DC Chapter welcome you to the PRRT&HS 58th Annual Meeting.

The event site is the Eisenhower Hotel and Convention Center and the adjoining Aspire hotel. The location is ten minutes south of downtown historic Gettysburg, and eight minutes from the National Military Park.

In addition to the Banquet presentation and annual modelling committee open meeting, 18 presentations covering a broad range of subjects will be presented, nearly all twice, using three presentation rooms operating on a relaxed schedule, providing plenty of time to visit the vendor room and the model room. Specific PRRT&HS presentations will cover using our new Digital Keystone Collection and an update on recent changes at the Archives. Check out the presentation pop-up below.

A rail excursion Thursday on the Walkersville Southern, operating on a portion of the old PRR Frederick branch, layout tours Friday night and Sunday, a sale of surplus used PRR books from our Archives along with member donated models at the society's vendor table, and the annual society business meeting Saturday morning round out the PRR related activities.

There is also a lot of history in the immediate area. We have arranged bus tours of Gettysburg battlefield narrated by a noted historian before our meeting starts and an alternate tour of downtown Gettysburg on Friday for those not focused on the PRR. We expect some members will take advantage of the opportunity to visit historic sites before or after our meeting to include a more in depth visit of the Battlefield park, downtown Gettysburg, which includes several smaller museums that may be of interest, and the Eisenhower national historic site, all within ten minutes of our convention site.

Come and join us in Gettysburg!

PRR’s Richmond Branch extended west from Cincinnati to Richmond, Indiana, and on towards Logansport. This program focuses on that Cincinnati-Richmond segment, and reviews the line’s historical development, facilities and operations.

NOT EVERY PASSENGER TRAIN ON THE PRR WAS THE BROADWAY LIMITED – MATTHEW HURST
Even though the prestigious Broadway Limited was the poster child for the PRR, it was not the only passenger train to ply the rails of the standard railroad of the world.   In fact, there were far more interesting trains to operate over the many lines of the PRR, many didn’t even carry passengers! Matthew will be discussing examples of those unique trains and ways to model them, so whether you model the mainline, secondary line or a branch line, and you have an affinity for passenger and express trains….this presentation is for you.

Modeler's Forum

Aspire North

We round out Satuday's daytime activities with the always exciting presentation by the PRRT&HS Modeling Committee on what's going on in the modeling world.  This is also your chance to let them know what models, tools or supplies you'd like to see showing up on your hobby shop's shelves.

As a special treat, the winners of the silent auction for a limited number of brass locomotives will be announced at this forum.  See more about the silent auction here.

Used Book Sale

Vendor Room

Over the years the society has received donations of a large number of books covering the PRR, many of which are long out of print. The Archives is running out of space, and an inventory has revealed many more duplicate copies of books than a research facility requires.

If you are relatively new to studying the history of the PRR, a number of books will be on sale at the PRRT&HS National Tables in the Vendor Room. It will be a good opportunity to expand your PRR library at prices lower than found on e-bay.

A list of books and quantities will be provided on our web site a week before the convention.

Be sure to bring cash or a checkbook as it is uncertain if we will be able to accept payment by credit card.

Donated Models Sale

Vendor Room

The society has also started accepting donations of models to be sold to raise funds for the society.  These are mostly HO scale, nearly all are PRR, and we will price most of them below e-bay prices.

Be sure to bring cash or a checkbook as it is uncertain if we will be able to accept payment by credit card.

Silent Auction

Vendor Room - Bidding, Aspire North - Completion

We will be holding a Silent Auction for a limited number of brass locomotives from this collection. About a week before the meeting, we will post here on the website details of these models and bidding will end on Saturday at 2:30 pm. You must be at the Modeler's Forum in the Aspire North room on Saturday at 3:30 pm in order to claim any models for which yours was the winning bid.

Details on how to bid will  be provided here, so visit us from time to time.

Be sure to bring cash or a checkbook as it is uncertain if we will be able to accept payment by credit card.

Vendor Room

Commonwealth Ballroom – Lobby Level

Looking for that rare car kit or locomotive?  How about a rule book or employee timetable?  A nice piece of art?  A lantern or station sign?

Hundreds of things like these will be available in the Vendor Room.  Raffle prizes will also be displayed in the vendor room, with tickets sold at the PRRT&HS table. The Raffle will start at the Banquet on Saturday evening after dinner.  Check the Main Program Outline to the left for location and times.

We will have many 8 foot tables, with skirts, available at $30 each. $10 extra for electricity at the table.

The Vendor Room schedule is as follows:
