Salvaging History

While not actually a part of the Chronology itself, we are including this article that was also written by Chris, detailing what went into acquiring, sorting, appraising, and preserving the valuable documents from which much of the Chronology was taken. It is truly a fascinating look into a world that most of us don't even think about, but that is vitally important in preserving our human history. This article appeared in the Spring-Summer 2005 issue of Railroad History magazine, which is published by the Railway & Locomotive Historical Society.
